I'm hopelessly overwhelmed by all these posts, but ........... a couple of observations (1) Is "homo" an offensive term? I don't see why, since it is simply a contraction for "homosexual." Would anyone find "hetero" offensive? In long, respectful discourses where the two sexual orientations need to referred to frequently, it is common to substitute "homo-" and "hetero-" for the full words. If one would now argue that the dash means everything, well, I would have to say this is getting toooo silly. I do have a problem when groups feel they are entitled to give us notice that they now find some formerly respectable word objectionable and that we are therefore not to use it any longer (as happened with "Negro"). Word usage changes constantly in the normal course of events but I don't think it should change by mandate. If we as conservatives notified you that from now on you are to refer to us as "patriots" would you be comfortable with that and defer to our wishes? (2) I think I saw you say (more or less) that people ought to be able to pursue pleasure in any way they wish as long it does not harm others. Given that there is an epidemic of AIDS in the USA in which at least half of the victims are male homosexuals (rectal sex being by far the most common cause of infection) does this mean that you oppose homosexuality since it can and does harm others?
