CLinton and Carter both engaged in the Holy Land and got peace accords. Bush's "Roadmap To Peace" was just a slogan. There was almost no effort backing it up. So it quickly withered on the vine. Even worse, the debacle in Iraq has unsettled and imbalanced the entire region so that, seriously, some wise people are even musing about bringing Saddam Hussein back, at least to broker a deal with the Sunnis. Just a collosal failure on Bush-Cheney's part.

Clinton was much more successful with North Korea than Bush has been. Clinton gets a C, Bush gets an F. Bush has achieved absolutely nothing in North Korea except making them twice as dangerous. Ditto Iran, though they are now 10 times as dangerous. Lesson being, you have to act like an adult in the diplomatic world. Even if there are some nutty countries, you have to keep talking to them. Talking doesn't cost us anything. Not talking and snubbing can cost us a lot.
