I understood that the houses were destroyed at the request of the Palestinian Authority. I think because they wanted to use the land for other purposes. The Israelis have the luxury of having a powerful government that can co-ordinate its actions. The israelis have only what the Israelis built. The palestinians could have created a powerful government but instead they chose first Arafat, and then Hamas. They chose to buy guns and bombs instead of food and tools. They live in the land their hatred has created.
