I wonder how many heterosexual men or women have died of AIDS, where the source of the HIV (1 or 2 iterations back) was spread by a gay (or bisexual) male?

If you were a single male looking to live the "pleasurable" life that you seem to strive for (based on you messages on this thread), and you believed you found a means to your "pleasure" in the young lady you met in a bar...and this "pleasure" resulted in you becoming HIV-positive. I think your views might change some.

Come, come - the AIDS epidemic spreads harm far and wide to those not enjoying the pleasure. We could begin with the enormous burden on the health system, a cost to all of us. Then there are all the infections inflicted on partners (including heteros-) unaware of the risk they are exposed to. Also, there are ways other than sex to become infected. Epidemics are not discriminate in their spread.

Your concept of harm only applies in a free country. In the new socialist USA, all risk will be shared equally. Therefore, all individual behavior impacts on everyone. Expect more not less scrutiny by the state of what you do, and more and more draconian measures to keep you in line. Uncle Nanny cares about all of us.
