Sasol's CEO says their Oryx GTL plant in Qatar is viable at $15 a barrel. See: Message 22522122

Others have estimated the costs at $14.00 per barrel of output.

With Oryx GTL coming on stream we will soon have some real world numbers to work with.

That's for a place like Qatar not North America.

In North America only CTL makes sense with cost estimates all over the map from $30 to $60 a barrel. Some one will have to build one to find out. Extrapolating North American costs from Sasol's experience in South Africa is difficult.
