If you study the post lebanon and Infitada 2 period in israel, its amazing how many times you see a ratio of 10-1. Other side concentrates on civilians and israel concentrates on combattants for the most part. Collateral damage is always what does israel in in the court of public opinion. Hizbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad dont have the problem of collateral damage. They always target the innocent so thats OK in the whacky world of euro/lefty thought these days. Like Bush is HItler so zarquawi has to be better. What bothers me most is that the free world has yet to find a way to win these guerilla wars. We go back to vietnam and the talk of fighting with one hand behind our back. One day, an outfit like hizbolla will win a major battle but hizbolla is not to israel like vietnam was to the US--some country 10,000 miles from home. Israel only has to lose one time to these thugs to be finished. And thats when the nuclear genie may be unleashed. No doubt if they nuked southern lebanon, hizbolla would disappear. There tunnels, bunkers, katushas would be worth shit. Use of nukes is something we dont want but routing out guerillas a la japanese in WW2 is something that is unacceptable to western countries, even israel, because of losses. We live in dangerous times.

CNN CAIRO, Egypt (AP) -- Al Qaeda's No. 2 leader issued a worldwide call Thursday for Muslims to rise up in a holy war against Israel and join the fighting in Lebanon and Gaza until Islam reigns from "Spain to Iraq." Spain eh? Maybe we should follow Elroys suggestion and bring all the Jews to NJ. We could follow that up by bringing all Spaniards to the US Southwest. Hell al quaeda in mexico thinks the US southwest belongs to mexico anyway so they shouldnt object to more spanish speakers. Like Chris Parson often says---when the terrorists demand something bend over but never fight back.
