I think the problem was that they were using testosterone levels of French men to set the standards..

Those races are won by whoever has the highest testosterone level.

Not so.

These races are won by whoever has the right combination of slow-twitch and fast-twitch muscle fibers, converts glycogen most efficiently, and has the highest VO2max.

These things have nothing to do with testosterone.
