The US did give Iraq credits to buy food and satellite intelligence - because prospect that Iran might win the war was considered a big danger at the time.

Read the damn history of the war. Iran struggled with the bloodbath.....at one point, she was sending in 14 year olds to fight......so many older Iranian men had been killed. How do you think Iraq got the reputation of having a strong military?

Iraq was armed primarily by Russia, France and China.

Not primarily......along with the US. And the important takeaway is not how much but that the US was giving aid to a known tyrant and terrorist in the first place. But that's the kind of games the GOP presidents play.
