Or were you meaning to add "... from the right"?

Oh, Mary, Mary. And of course all cows are brown...

You can't have it both ways. If you disagree then you must believe:

Being biased is being honest. Being dishonest is being smart.

Not at all.

Elementary logic. Saying that "A" is not "B", is not the same as saying "A" is "not B". Or to put it another way - saying that A is not the same as B, is not the same as saying A is the opposite of B.

How could it be possible that being biased has nothing to do with honesty?

I didn't say there is no connection or overlap, only that they are not the same thing. To say that "being biased is being dishonest", is not to say that "biased people are often dishonest", its more like saying "bias is the same thing as dishonesty" or "its impossible to be biased without also being dishonest".

In fact it is possible to be both honest and biased, just as it is possible to be dishonest and intelligent.

As for Fox news I wouldn't say it is a paragon of non-biased reporting. OTOH I wouldn't say the NYT is either.

When I think of the word "bias" I think of bias tape, which is cut on the bias, instead of on the square.

We may think our point of view and reality are an exact match, but in reality we're all off kilter.
