Exxon and their ilk CONTROL the world market, you BS artist.
And if you think for one minute Exxon doesn't drill for its own oil, you're living on another planet. Sure they commission home countries where they drill, but I am including in the BUSH-CHENEY AXIS OF GOUGING those same home countgries; the Saudi Arabians, the Kuwaitis, the Iraqi oil ministery and many more. Add in all the other big oil companies and there is NO COMPETITION whatsoever, just a clear motive, opportunity and eager collusion to ramp up prices and monopolize, above all laws of any country, especially now the US, since the White House and congress are controlled by very oil-friendly rightwing Republicans.

Also, I defy you to show us how the price of production and refining has gone up so much that they have to double the price of gasoline. In the past five years there was been very little inflation. Unless you are talking about the amount of money they donate to corrupt politicians or put into the BS PR ads flooding our TV screens these days, about what an honest environmental bunch they all are.

What hogwash. We can see the rampant gouging with our own eyes. And I have heard it from the horse's mouth personally, from the Texas oilman who told me that ever since Bush-Cheney arrived they have charged "anything we want". And just look at the results. They're still not finished either.

Also, if you think 40 billion a year is only "good but not great" profits, you need a lobotomy. All across the world, every company or country that owns oil reserves is swimming in extra billions now. And it's not about supply, it's about jacking up the prices while Bush-Cheney are in power and sometimes creating artificial shortages. And if Bush-Cheney were to sudenly be gone, prices would plummet 30% and the real investigations into gouging would begin.
