Why have a primary?
Why not a multistage election.
First election narrows the field to 3-5 candidates,
then a general election followed by a runoff if necessary.

All candidates run in each stage.

Let EVERYBODY in a state pick the best Democratic candidate and the best Republican candidate.

Wouldn't work......they tried it in NH. The Republicans voted for the Dem they thought would lose. There is nothing honest about the 21st century GOPers......why give them another opportunity to screw the rest of us.
