The thing that bothers me the most right now is the general notion, throughout the Bush admin, and now also throughout the present Israeli admin that military force is the only answer.

It's apparent that the lesson of Iraq won't be learned by this present US administration.

Force within diplomacy is the answer, not force either by itself or force with a small dab of diplomacy.

My sense is they will be hard to break and local public opinion probably supports them.. longer it takes, more will gravitate towards them.. Let's not forget there are all types of people with grievances there who has been suffering a long time.. People with little hope of a just outcome probably would rather go down in flame so to speak..

Of course most people here probably don't care too much of root of the problems with Israel and Palestine etc.. for them might is right and let's not forget about the biases.. lol..

what a screwed up world it is..

I have to admit that Hezbollah is a much tougher nut to crack than I thought initially.

I agree that Hezbollah is a tough nut to crack.

It would only have cracked already if it was an "easy nut". Israel has bombed Hezbollah a lot but its only been a relatively short time since the conflict started, and Israel has only used ground forces in a very minimal way.
