The problem with a list of proponents. 1 - It may be inaccurate. 2 - It doesn't say how strongly they support the idea. and most of all 3 - Its not evidence. Its just argument from authority, which isn't even much of an argument let alone evidence. A detailed argument from them would have a lot more weight that a list with their name on it. A detailed argument from them combined with actual evidence to back up their points might be enough to be convincing. A list of their names is not.
