Rink, Re: This discussion started when NG stated that he thought that by the time CMW would become a force in the market that AMD would have leap frogged it in performance because of 65nm and K8L. I maintained that AMD's 65nm will not be enough to close the gap with a ramping CMW, and secondly that K8L would probably not be in time for that statement. I hope the information about whether or not that statement can be true or not is clear now.>

Uncle. It's pretty clear, at least to my highly *FOGGED* and misty brain, that AMD is going for multi core full bore and INTC somewhat less. Maybe it's the Buss, who knows.

IMO, however, it is incontrovertible that *SERVER* is AMD's first and hardest push. It's where they said they were going 2 years ago and it's where it seems they're going now.

So if they're going with 'little slower single core, for energy efficiency, I don't like them giving up the bragging rights but can understand it.

It's pretty clear to me that if CMWs are manufacturable they're going to take the gaming crowd which is a big, IMO, influence on the white box desktop market; somewhat less influence on the major builder market.

Do you have a link for Fuad's K8L prognostications? Inq's search doesn't seem to work.
