If I didn't know the man or woman personally I wouldn't send my son OR daughter out with them. You have to be very careless not to get to know a person who will be in charge of your son or daughter. Since biological fathers are the most likely molesters of children in general- see link below- merely being a father and "acting" like a straight parent isn't much protection for your child. The guy who is being honest about being gay is probably the least likely guy to molest your child. The real child abusers out there, for the most part, are clever enough to hide it, and avoid any associations that might make them stand out. I'll make an exception for the Catholic clergy on that one.
