Depends on what you mean by Islamic rule. They used to say we would never allow a Catholic to be president, the KKK was active in many parts of the country intimidating Catholics at the turn of the 20th century. Then along came Kennedy, one of the most popular presidents of all times. If you study Islamic Jurisprudence, you will find many old testament types of guidelines but in practicality most countries with a moderate government, run by Muslims, are quite similar in temperament to our own. To my knowledge there is nothing in the constitution that the Sharia of Islam could not support. The constitution has always been a document that is flexible enough to lend itself to interpretation by the empowered people of the day. The Muslims in America right now may out number the Jews in America, and that statistic is one of the fastest growing populations in the world.
