Well, "IBM getting the religion" is one of the reasons I continued to hold below 25. Dell and IBM. Also no reason to sell at 19 today.

You say it is their biggest announcement this year. Do you mean across ALL product lines?

RE: Dan's note on the AMD-64 class. I thought about using <sarcasm>, but I meant it. 30 minutes? And no list of other classes. Damning with faint praise.

IBM has announced that they are introducing their new Opteron systems on Tuesday, and that it will be their biggest announcement of the year. Since you are expecting so little, I just said that I thought you would be nicely surprised. But, maybe you won't be. Who knows?

Maybe that's why AMD is purchasing ATI in a mostly cash deal so that it does not become dilutive.

Perhaps they are planning to be hugely cash flow positive in the next 2Q's?

Does "biggest announcement of the year" mean
1. Biggest announcement of the year so far
OR
2. Biggest announcement of the year?

If (2) then either IBM won't be announcing Woodcrest servers or they don't think they are important.
