How about fiscal lack of responsibility on the part of the fiats?

One can not cherry pick the last 3 years ignoring 23 years and say there is some sort of corelation between gold and treasuries or "inflation expectations".

Actually, gold has been rising for 5 years (since 2001)....and given gold's monetary history of the last 5000 years, one can't pick just cherry-pick the last 23 either.

Gold shines when it's more widely used alternatives are in trouble, and that is what the price action of the last few years points to for me.
