The dumbest thing about Israel’s wanton destruction of Lebanon is that it simply serves to harden Arab opinion against them ensuring more of the same the next 100 years Yeah, just when the whole arab world was leaning towards zionism, the Israelis had to go mess it up(that line is dripping with sarcasm, for those that don't pick up on it easily). What the hell is wrong with you? WWIII has been simmering for decades. The west has been under attack and will stay under fire until this develops into active warfare in that whole general region. For me, the 1979 take over of our Iranian embassy and our failure to respond in a substantive way marks the start of WWIII. What has followed that event is a long line of attacks marked by our continued failure to make them pay the price for their aggression. The only common thread in those attacks was our lack of response up until 9/11. You can't bargain with fanatics and any restraint shown by the Israelis at this point will only come back to haunt them in the not so distant future. The event that will spur additional funding and improved weapons for hezbollah is their proven ability to lob missiles into Israel at will. Without proper response now, you can count down the time until the Israelis are slaughtered. We are only one lilly livered appeasing administration away from a "real" mess in the middle east.
