One will be over the northern Bahamas and the other just east of the Lesser Antilles. by AccuWeather Expert Senior Meteorologist Dan Kottlowski We are tracking tropical waves along 37 west, south of 17 north, along 66 west, south of 19 north, along 79 west, south of 23 north and along 93 west, south of 20 north. The first two waves are moving quickly at about 7 to 8 degrees longitude per day. The last two waves are moving a bit slower at the rate of about 6 degrees longitude per day. The wave along 66 west looks stronger due to its interaction with the Lesser Antilles and with an upper-level system to its west and northwest. This upper-level feature will exert too much shear over this wave through the weekend for possible development, but the shear should decrease early next week. This wave will then interact with a weak upper-level low over the northern Bahamas early next week and move northward. There is some chance this interaction could evolve into an organized tropical system. The last wave along 37 west is quite interesting. The clouds around this feature are turning counter clockwise, something you should see with a system that is trying to organize. A thunderstorm complex ahead of this wave along 45 west might slow down, allowing the wave to catch up with it. This kind of interaction can lead to an organized system, but this process will probably take a few days. We might have two features to worry about early next week. One will be over the northern Bahamas and the other just east of the Lesser Antilles.
