Mani started the other thread and most wound up leaving. Some stayed here because they didn't like the idea of a moderated thread. I left fairly early on. As to what happened after that, you need to ask Harris or Ted. I do know that Ted stirred up some controversy when he attempted to change the name of this thread, which was still named AMD. The compromise was adding the "Formerly About" part.
