Jim, Later Ted tried to get the thread renamed the "Ted Thread". SI refused claiming it was important for people to find the old AMD posts.

I don't ever remember Ted trying to get his name on the subject. As for trying to access the old AMD posts, that was me, IIRC.

Since I wanted to keep AMD in the title, I came up with the suggestion "Americans Mocking Dubya."

RE:"This thread was not abandoned."

This is true. It just got turned into a political thread back during the 2000 campaign. The moderated thread was then started. The biggest poster was Scumbria. Ardent Gore supporter. I'm sorry to say I contributed.

LOL. You guys are funny. You are so quick to rewrite American history so why am I not surprised that you're trying to rewrite thread history.

Again, in roughly 2000, the AMD regulars went to a moderated thread format........the thread that currently is the AMD thread. Since I did not agree with a controlled thread environment, I decided to stay with this thread. The only other person who posted here with any kind of regularity was Tim Fowler but most days, I simply posted articles that I thought were relevant politically and nationally.

It went like that for a few months to a year.........I don't remember for how long. Slowly, more people began to post here. As it got more popular, we wanted to change the name to better reflect what was under discussion here and to cut down on the confusion when people would come here looking to talk about AMD stuff. We never considered the name "Ted's thread" because we never got that far. Every time we brought up the subject of a name change, the hard right poster on the AMD thread known as Joe Halazda screamed like a stuck pig. He was afraid that all the precious historical info on this thread from prior to its emergence as a political thread would be lost. Since you all suffer from a limited intellect, we decided to simply restate the name as Formerly AMD in order to reduce the paranoia and allay Joe's fears.

Now let's discuss your role back in the day..........you were one of these posters who would come over to the AMD thread.....go on and on about how you thought AMD would be the second coming in the silicon world *kiss*kiss*, and then you would go over to the INTC thread and say the same thing in reverse......how AMD would never amount to anything and INTC was the god among chips *kiss*kiss*. You were such the udder in those days. Thankfully, you gotten a little more backbone.

So once again, to repeat, I am the founder of the transformed thread aka FAMD. I am proud of the accomplishment........during the past 6 years, this thread has gone from a has been to one of the more popular threads on SI. So you can diss me all you want but you can't change the truth.

And remember: Mi casa est su casa! Stay as long as you like! ;-)

Reminds me of how Internet almost became the Algorenet.

Just imagine "Ted Thread" and "Algorenet"? My foot!

Still a few common sensed people left.
LOL

Yes......by magic! Of course. You're full of it.

The moderated thread was then started. The biggest poster was Scumbria. Ardent Gore supporter. I'm sorry to say I contributed.

LOL. The biggest poster was me. And you rarely posted here back then because you knew I would call you on your whiny ways. We go back a long time, jimbo. Come on......don't you remember?!

Later Ted tried to get the thread renamed the "Ted Thread". SI refused claiming it was important for people to find the old AMD posts.

Hmmmm.....just like Clinton created a real estate bubble, huh? You're another one of those dangerous people who passes as a good American citizen......and alleges to be a real estate expert. BTW how's the collapsing housing bubble doing in FLA? Are they ready to close the state down? What other horror stories do you want to scare the thread with?
