"...The US would like the process of disarming the organization to be an internal Lebanese procedure, which could be gradual and will not take place at the time of signing a cease-fire agreement. One of the options being considered, according to US officials, is absorbing the Hizbullah members - under certain conditions - into the Lebanese army."

---------- Gee, sounds like the Iraq army, riddled with insurgents. Who says Dubyette didn't learn something in Iraq?

I note that the proposed Lebanese conditions for peace talks do in fact stipulate Sheba Farms as an issue of contention.

Yadda, yadda.. yadda.. The UN has ALREADY stated that Shaba farms belong to Syria and over-ruled Lebanon's claim several years ago.

What's next? Do they claim the entire Golan Heights? What about parts of N. Israel??

But hey.. if Syria is willing to concede Shaba Farms to Lebanon, so much the better...

But as it currently stands, its a "red herring" aimed at deflecting attention from the FACT that Lebanon has permitted a rogue milita to usurp the foreign policy of Lebanon.
