I'm sorry. You just can't be pleased. You thought it wouldn't be treated as a hate crime, and it is being treated as a hate crime- if you read the article you would see police AND FBI are treating it as one. Now you're switching to something else. I have to tell you, the pique in your posts isn't terribly convincing. Maybe you're getting through to other people, but I doubt it.

I'm not sure a white man going in to a Mosque would be handled that much differently. After all, if you are an intelligent reader, the first thing you think is "mental patient"- when a quiet "loner" does something, no matter what color he is. While I'm glad it's being treated as a hate crime, I'd bet in this case, as in many other cases of hate crimes (including a couple of the black on white hate crimes) there is an element of mental illness here.

When I was in Turkey I was in Mosques.. We had to leave our shoes at the door and be silent but we were able to watch a service in Arabic I think and all the men standing then kneeling..

It was quite an experience.Especially when watching the cleansing proccedure with water outside the Mosque.. Washing hands... etc.

OH, we also covered our heads... Out of respect.
