re: In 1946, was Germany better off than the Germany of 1938?

This is in no way analogous to WWII. I can't think of a significant similarity.

re: I cannot and will not judge good and evil of the parties involved, based upon the number of casualties during a conflict.

They are BOTH good and BOTH evil. It's the war that is not good but pure evil.

re: Egypt and Jordan made peace with Israel. Yes, thanks to Jimmy Carter. If the enemies of Israel would get off their religious fanatic mentality, many wouldn't be bankrupt with their people wondering where their next meal is coming from and if they will be around to eat it.

And you think this is advancing or stalling that cause?

re: Iran was making great progress until the Hitler wannabe felt getting his own nuclear weapons was his highest priority.

And you think 'anything' external led to his election? What turned the Iranian population so anti-American?

Considering your position, I would try to apply it to post-war Germany...

In 1946, was Germany better off than the Germany of 1938?

I cannot and will not judge good and evil of the parties involved, based upon the number of casualties during a conflict.

Look, harris, its too bad this has to be spelled out to you.

Germany vs the US......Germany and the US were fairly equal in military strength. Israel vs Hezbollah; Israel is the regional superpower.........Hezbollah is a insurgent militia.

There is no comparison between Germany and Lebanon because there is no analogy. You are trying to make one when the conditions are no where near the same.

Egypt and Jordan made peace with Israel. Yes, thanks to Jimmy Carter. If the enemies of Israel would get off their religious fanatic mentality, many wouldn't be bankrupt with their people wondering where their next meal is coming from and if they will be around to eat it.

Has it ever dawned on you that the Israelis might be religious fanatics as well? Both sides believe in theocracies.

Have you ever seen the Hasidam? The men wearing the curly sideburns and top hats at all times. They are as conservative as any Islamic fundamentalist.
