My wife would probably agree with you on that, LOL. One thing you learn from the real world of foreign policy (if you do it more than a few years like so many political appointees) is that you better have a pragmatic, objective understanding of the countries where you want to get something done. Demonizing whole cultures is nonsense, dreaming you can remake them with a flick of your wrist is delusional, and losing sleep over people who can't pose more than a minor threat to our democracy and way of life is just dumb. Guess I am not that mellow after all. Too many years of listening to BS rhetoric from politicos who believed in all of the above.
