What I don't get is why so many of them follow that pattern. It's one thing to express a POV that turns out to be wrong. There is no shame in accepting the fact you were mistaken & alter your POV to fit the facts. It's quite another to be exposed to credible evidence that refutes that POV & not only reject the evidence but continue to repeat a known falsehood, It's much worse when they attack the people who brought it to their attention. When this pattern becomes persistent it becomes extremely frustrating to attempt to converse with these folks. I can understand why Oral gave up, though I hope he reconsiders.
