I think the only reason the israelis havent hit syria is that syria has wmds and will use them at some point if attacked by israel. Syria is so weak in general that their wmd serves as a deterrent. Some might say that israel has nukes and would wipe syria off the map. Thats true enough but israel certainly doesnt want to precipitate that chain of events. Once again it shows how a rogue regime with even minor wmd capability can one day blackmail superpowers or in this case regional superpowers. NK, Iran and syria play a dangerous game here but one which the US and Israel have yet to supply answers for.
