Are we paying for PEACE (in which case the program is a total disaster)OR:

Are we paying for WAR and guaranteed Middle East INSTABILITY?

If the latter, the program is a wonderful success, yielding
GREAT RETURNS.

Just not to the American people who, in one manner or another cough up the dough.

Interesting article. When you consider Israel is a country about the size of Vermont, and we have poured these billions into it since 1950, the "miracle in the desert" illustration is clearly a myth. Someone here commented that if you took the Israelis and plonked them down in the Aleutian Islands, they'd be a wealthy and prosperous country in a few years. Darn right they would be if we, and other private and government groups kept pouring billions per month into the Aleutian's economy. Better watch out for those Aleuts, though. I hear they can be a tough bunch to push out of their homes.. :)
