KeyCorp To Consider Sale Of Champion Mortgage>KEY

.(sell to who Vosilla? Barclays?)

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

KeyCorp (KEY) said Tuesday it is considering the sale of its Champion Mortgage subsidiary, a nonprime retail mortgage lender.

Cleveland-based KeyCorp has hired UBS Investment Bank to assist with the possible sale of the business.

KeyCorp said with its renewed focus on community banking and its 13-state footprint, Champion no longer fits its longer-term strategic priorities.

Acquired by Key in 1997, Champion is headquartered in Parsippany, N.J. Champion, which serves customers in 26 states, had a loan portfolio of about $2.5 billion as of June 30.

Hilton Hotels 2Q Profit Fell >HLT

(I guess russ winter and shades not paying 250 a night is hurting Hilton - hehe - I once argued with one of these hotels that had lots of empty rooms - I will pay 100 - they said no - full price 130 - I said I dont get it - you are going to lose 100 you could make - you will not stay in business like that with empty rooms earning NOTHING - I slept in walmart parking lot for FREE)

Hilton Hotels Corp.'s (HLT) second-quarter profit fell 29%.

(An item at 9:17 a.m. EDT said profits improved.)
