Do you think there is one simple answer to all those questions?

;<)

Since there is no formal centrist party with an established program, any answer to that would just be speculating. Most often, I would expect the middle to synthesize the dogmatic views of the partisan parties. That in itself may or may not be considered an original idea. You could frequently measure the center by seeing which partisan views are rejected by a majority of the voters.

A willingness and actual effort to work across party lines would be a major feature. Not demonizing either political partisan side would be another.

And of course, not assuming that the media or science or Hollywood or big business or whatever is just a giant secret conspiracy to keep your side down and promote the evil ends of The Others.

That is a start. As to what else it includes, keep reading the thread and see what emerges.
