Not a single rightwing leader has ever served in combat.
You chickenhawks no longer have the right to criticize people who put their lives on the line for our country, nor the peace-makers who try to end senseless wars.

Republican Hagel Blasts Bush Iraq Policy
thinkprogress.org

Says it's already as bad as Vietnam, if not worse.

vBecause no Bushies ever fought in Vietnam, apparently they did not learn the painful lessons of Vietnam.

Time to replace our entire national leadership on foreign policy, war and a lot more. Hagel would be an excellent replacement for Bush. He knows what he's talking about.

Is there any notable personality that was against the Iraq invasion originally, but is now for it? I have seen almost nobody that has done that switch. But, for the opposite case, i.e. for the invasion initially and now against it, I have seen literally tens of instances.

Like Iraq, Vietnam was a terrible mistake and if you see the film "Fog Of War" you'll see McNamara not only admitting this plus confessing that the North Vietnamese were not even our enemies. Mainly it was just a civil war we forced ourselves in the middle of. Proving this further, once we left, Vietnbam kicked out all the Soviets and started a war against communist China. They were not so much about communism as nationalism. They wanted imperialists out and were ready to die for that. Now they are a fairly capitalist country, a trading partner and have not bothered anyone military in 30 years.

Therefore, looking back, Jane Fonda may have gone too far, but she was 100% right to be against that war. Only her methods were insulting to many. So time to lay off Fonda. She's apologized many times and is a different kind of person now. She's very responsible.
