So it sounds like "granting in part various motions to intervene on the issues of remedy and bonding" probably means that Verizon, Sprint Motorola, LG and Samsung's motion to intervene is being "granted in part" and is the reason for the postponement. This is a pretty limited reading between the lines on my part - for the more legally inclined, what else does it mean?

That Notice Of Commission Determination was dated March 16, 2006. The preliminary decision on the merits, from the Administrative Law Judge, is still scheduled to be issued no later than August 21, 2006.

It perhaps means that the Judge has preliminarily determined that Q is infringing and wants the folks who will be affected to have plenty of time to make their own views known. If that bit of tea leaf reading is correct, it also means that BRCM wanted to jam them into putting on their evidence ASAP, and that the Judge would have nothing of it.

Use a pinch or more of NaCl as this is purely speculative.
