We get stuff from the money spent on defense, tech, jobs, taxes etc. The money on poverty goes to columbia

Correct. Yet you want to give them more money to waste (increased taxes) instead of first managing the money that they have... I know that you do not have a finance background, but, first comes management before increasing tax revenues. That is the responsible expectation we should all have.

The money spent on poverty is a drop in the bucket compared to the money wasted on defense.

What money wasted on defense? The war on poverty is a joke.

hatred and scary bird flu ?? remember this:
As the news began to break, 30 years ago this week, Americans were primed for the threat of an epidemic. The Ford administration was making plans to vaccinate every American against a new strain of influenza, known as swine flu, after repeated warnings from government officials that a devastating epidemic could strike without warning. Michael Crichton’s “Andromeda Strain” had become a best seller. And some scientists were calling for a moratorium on laboratory efforts to genetically engineer microbes for fear they might create a monster germ.http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/01/health/01docs.html?_r=1&8dpc&oref=slogin
