I don't completely agree --

not sure why the author tied oil prices so tightly to the war in Iraq. Its pretty much BS. They way I see it, if we hadn't stopped Iraq in 1991, they'd have taken over Saudi Arabia and we'd be paying $10/gal for gas now.

Iraq's oil production isn't the reason why prices are so high.

The only part I agree with is the defecit spending has cause a weaker dollar and hence contributed to rising oil prices.

What about increased demand from China & India ? -- that was mentioned. How convenient, lol.

And as far as us not confronting Iran ??? LOLOL !!! Who do you think was the source of the bad WMD intel ? Who sponsors Hamas and Hezbollah ? Going after Iraq was a mistake -- we should have kept our focus on the real problem country -- the Taliban's next door neighbor.

And of course, invading Iraq made Iran that much more of a problem.

Ethanol/hybrid cars. That's the ticket.

what a rant on politics vs gas prices. writer subject has no relationship to prices at the gas pump.

now if we want to control gas prices let's put in stand by allocations. Price increases only hurt low and middle income people however if we limit supply we can at least get those hogs off the road. i doubt many who can afford gas will be willing to drive into a station two or three times a week for gasoline if limited to 10 gallons at a time or alternate days or both. Those large hogs will be parked!

Cutting taxes on gas imo would increase demand. somewhere price will control demand, not the fight with iran, iraq or leb and Israel war.

If you want immediate relief in continued pricing increases because of demand , then control the demand through allocations.

The plans are ready to be implemented at any time.
