I think you are misreading the insider information. Purchases by insiders far exceeded sales by insiders, by more than fifteen to one.

Institutions were also aggressive buyers, with a net increase of 37,500,900 shares purchased, a 13.8% increase.

interesting... they were buying hard until a few months ago...
still, long term, i don't se how chesapeake can generate less than 20% annual return. what do you think?
