Like I said before, the US does not have the troops, money or political support at home or abroad to escalate our role in the ME. Soon even Bush will have to admit that events have spiralled beyond beyond our control all over the region.

We can only speculate as to what Israel thinks. Their main concern is long-term defensible borders, not a wider regional war which does nothing to increase the security of those borders, since they can never completely defeat the major Arab countries.

The neocons are mostly finished in the administration apart from a few lone voices like Bolton and Abrams. And they know the next administration won't be calling them up to take new jobs, whoever wins. The country is fed up with them; they won't be back in power for a long time once we get past 2008.

Interesting post. Although I hope to hell it isn't going to happen I think that the possibility exits...You may be very right...Sadly.
