Big Oil is currently a criminal monopoly.

Forgive me if I'm not impressed by your simple assertion.

Since then the gouging has gotten much bigger and gone global, enriching Bush-Cheney pals the Saudis as well as their rivals the Iranians

The Saudis and Iranians where already part of a cartel to try and raise oil prices. They don't need XOM, and Bush can't have much of an effect on way or the other.

If there is some world wide cartel it doesn't seem to be very effective, at least for the American companies considering their margins, and considering that real oil prices are still lower than they where in the early 80s.
