You are correct. My memory fails me, but isn't Harding the only other 20th century President listed at the bottom? Clinton will settle down to the bottom fourth over time. He will be recorded as a footnote in history *Sex between the Bushes.

Carter was a much-much better president than Bush.

Rightwingers slam Carter for his high energy prices, but look at what we have now under Bush-Cheney. Just as bad if not worse, and due to Bushie corruption mostly, not cirunstances outside out control.

Carter was the victim of a triple whammy, the inflation caused by the ballooning post-Vietnam national debt, the 6 Day War in the Middle East after which the Arab oil producers embargoed the Gulf and the Shah of Iran who had been self-destructing for years before Carter came into power, finally toppled. None of those three were Carter's fault, but they made his job very-very difficult indeed.

The Carter hostage rescue mission was doomed by bad luck or sabotage. Also, the Reaganites deliberately went in and negotiated with the Iranians to keep holding the hostages until after the election. Then Reagnites delivered high-tech arms to Iran as payment. That is all true.

Carter was great on energy, the environment, peace-making and uniting the nation. If Reagan hadn't dismantled Carter's energy programs we'd be 100%v off Arab oil today. Carter also ushered in The New South and the south has never seen finer days. Bushies ushered back in the divisive racist feelings that preceeded Carter. Carter was also the only true Christian president we've had. He was the real deal. Still is, of course. One reason Bushies attack Carter is because he was a true Southern Baptist honest Christian, Bushies are not. Bushies just pretend to be righteous, but are mostly white collar criminals. Just look at Ralph Reed.
