It does seem that the idea of nuclear war isn't that far away these days. We really have incredibly weak 'leaders' all around the world.

They seem like a bunch of children, more suited to running the local PTA than running countries. Not one of them appears to be an adult, not one of them seems to be taking much of this seriously. They all seem out to whine and complain and deflect blame from themselves rather than sit down and consider what this all means to the people they're supposed to be representing.

I wonder if Bush actually has the tactical nukes he wanted. IMO, he would use them at a moment's notice without any thought as to the consequences. He has been a failure all of his life, buoyed only by his father's influence and position, why should he start being successful at this late date?

One can always hope but I think we're dangerously close to thinking that a tactical nuclear war is a real possibility.
