The point is that if a brokered deal is not remotely feasible, then calling for one is not constructive.

What are you talking about?

That sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy.

What is needed is some imagination and creativity.

1. We will tell Israel we will insure their safety - we will give them $100B dollars in aide. Stop all military activity now.

2. We will tell the Lebanese government we will give them $100B in aide. They will have to help an International border patrol to stop any hostile action against Israel.

3. The Palestinian National Authority get $100B to strengthen police force and to aide refugee resettlement.

4. The Iraqi government gets $400B ($100B to restore electricity, $100B for clean water, $100B to get oil flowing, and $100b to strengthen police force and make Iraqi civilian life safe).

5. $100Billion goes an International Peacekeeping force.

Who pays for all this:

Japan $150B
China $150B
EU $200B
US $300B

That is the easy stuff. Now we start talks with Syria and then with Iran.
