I think part of the problem is jealousy because the Jews have turned that patch of ground into a thriving oasis. Industry, agriculture, culture, ,,,a real presence.

There has been plenty of research on the subject of happiness [country]. The annual report was just released in the last month or two. General happiness has no correlation to what other countries have or what possessions one has.

They've found that some of the happiest peoples in the world are living in dirt poor countries. There are some minimum requirements like the ability to feed your family. War can bring your day down, but the blue tooth capable cell phone and big screen TV doesn't do a lot for happiness.

It's worth a read.

Well some Israelis would like the rest of the world think that:

- everyone who disagree with them on any subject is an evil anti-semite

- everyone is upset because they have a nice standard of living especially in comparison to their neighbors

- they have a right to the land because, hey, it's just a small sliver of land and there are only 14 million Jews left in the world and the world owes them

---------

I say that there is nothing heinous about the Jews establishing their own country but there is a problem doing it when someone else was actually living on it and claiming it to be theirs. Lots of things happen over the years including mass murder, fraud and bad fashion choices.

That doesn't make them good or useful things to do now.

The only thing for it is negotiation looked over by an honest-to-goodness neutral third party. What has happened in Iraq and Lebanon are the work of thugs and small minded people which is apparently all we have in 'leadership' positions these days.

History is full of people staking claims. New countries
established at the pointed end of a sword.

History is more full of foreign colonizers being expelled.
