"Bush and Scott McClellan have been clear in their statements on this,"

This is the same Scott McClellan who swore up and down that Rove wasn't involved in the Plame leak? The same Rove that now says he was? The number of lies and distortions that Scotty flatly stated were true are numerous, so citing him as a source doesn't really say much. Bush's record on veracity is similarly challenged.

The vast majority of the public approve of the NSA spying - if the press were more honest about the actual program, the approval would be 90+%, I'm sure.

The fact that so many Americans support the spy program speaks more to the ignorance of Americans on the subject of democracy rather than the efficacy of the program itself.
