With regard to this post can we then agree that it's not so serious when the militant Muslims.... and Ayatollahs say they want to push Israel into the sea ?

I wouldn't agree that its not serious.

There are important differences. A public repeated threat from a leader of a nation may just be bluster but it has to be treated a bit more seriously than someone venting on SI or in a private conversation, or by some author trying to get some publicity.

If the leaders of a nation are making threats, and many people in the nation are making or supporting similar statements, and the nations have in the past actually tried to carry out the threats, and are working on programs (like Iran's nuclear program) to give them greater ability in the effort to carry out the threat, and are supporting terrorist groups that are fully committed to the effort. Than you can't consider that to be no more serious than some extreme post on SI, or some over the top statement by Ann Coulter.
