Well, the direction of the courts seems to be to allow states to decide the various marriage issues, and I'm comfortable with that.

I think each state should go back to having its own set of mores and customs. Why not allow polygamy in Utah, gay marriage in Mass and legal cannabis in CA, for instance?

I'm sure I won't be the only one to point out that this idea would have found us with slavery still being practiced throughout the South.

Of course, this did involve the fundamental right of freedom, whereas the marriage issues do not.

I'm generally in favor of state's rights, so I don't think we have much disagreement.
