Jim -

That was funny, but didn't indicate that you do understand the guest worker program, as proposed. Guest workers would enter the country legally, would pay taxes, and as far as I know would not prevent you from waving your flag.

Guest workers would not receive welfare or food stamps, either.

What you omitted is that the guest worker would jobs that you would not do because your welfare system paid you more than the wage the guest makes.

And also don't forget that these guest workers are hired by Americans who pay them under the table to violate their own laws. Granted that these folks violate the law at the time they enter the country. But what about the Americans who violate the law by hiring them and paying them illegally?

Put on your thinking cap Mr. Thompson and not think from your heart instead.
