When Israel left S. Lebanon in 2000, knew (and for a fact they were push out by Hez using suicide bomber) that Hez will be in control. So why isn't Hizbullah "pushing" them out this time around?? The Israelis left Lebanon when they re-calculated the cost/benefit of remaining there, and certainly in the face of mounting condemndation from the UN. And you know what?? Hizbullah is in the same boat. They need to re-calculate their agenda and assess if they can pull some kind of "pyrhhic" victory out of this morasses they've dragged Lebanon into. Because when the Israelis leave, and either the Lebanese Army, or UN peacekeepers (with "teeth") move in, they are going to have to explain to the Lebanese people exactly why they provoked the devastation that has been wrought upon their country. They are currently riding the tide of popular support due to the prevalent belief that Israel want's to occupy Lebanese land. But when the above conditions are set in place, and the people start picking up the pieces, I think some common-sense is going to prevail and Hizbullah is not going to be nearly as popular. Of course, I guess, they might just all be as illogical are yourself and opt to perpetuate the conflict and exact some kind of "revenge" for the Israeli doing something the Lebanese should have done.. Btw, care to speculate on these conspiratorial "alternatives" you believe are about to surface?? Or are you just waiting for them to occur so you can practice more of your 20/20 hindsight?? Hawk
