Issues like this can turn public opinion in a heartbeat. When the tide turns, and it should, Lebanon will be recognized as sanitizing Israel's rear flank, in preparation for an IDF confrontation with Syria. It appears that with all Syria's bellicosity they are being goaded into making the predictable hostile blunder -- Hezbola is being played by The Fiddler on the Roof. If that is the case, that blunder will be the one they will forever regret. Again, I would not want to be holding real estate futures in Syria.
