So the people concerned with the dead kids at Qana are immediately and probably irrevocably cut off from American influence in the grand transformation of the region. That's what they see on TV then they hear Bush's words. Trying to put it all in a different context doesn't matter once the opinions on the street are formed.

I am constantly amazed at how little regard most people have for the public affairs impact of policy choices and statements. Until you can read and consider that, making up policy solutions is an abstract exercise.

Either you win people over or you don't. It's really that simple.
