The audience is not the people in the house, the audience is the Egyptians and Jordanians and Saudis watching the media all day and listening to the accounts of battle casualties, then hearing how the US is backing this move in the WOT. Toss in all the Muslims in the UK, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Indonesia and God knows where else. They are the people we are trying to persuade to be dutiful democrats instead of bomb throwing threats to the American homeland our or troops abroad.
